My Story...

Hi, I’m Jacqui, a no nonsense Lancashire lass who wears my heart on my sleeve!

As a Mum of 2 and a Health & Fitness coach, I am juggling the life of Mum, Wife, Chef, Entrepreneur, Friend and Chief Tidy-upper!! Some days are better then others but I have learned to just do my best and to become more in tune with what my body needs. This is what I want for my clients.

It was after the birth of my second child that I decided I wanted to pursue a career in the fitness industry. I passed my Level 2 then Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and started training a few clients in local parks. I soon realised that my passion was for group exercise and the buzz, energy and banter that comes with it. So I converted the garage into a studio and started the Fit Shack. Since then I have taken a special interest in the role of hormones in women as we approach perimenopause and how we can use exercise as medicine. I am now a Certified Specialist Wellness Coach for Perimenopausal Women and Beyond. I continue to study and learn constantly.

I have been passionate about sport and fitness from a very young age and never felt better than when I was on the netball court. As a kid I was constantly upside down doing cartwheels, handstands against the wall or headstands and, as I got older, I used to tag along with my Mum to aerobics.(Jane Fonda style!)

I continued to exercise throughout both of my pregnancies and was determined to continue after giving birth. Some of my greatest friendships have been made through sport and exercise, and that’s also how I met my husband.

My aim is to educate, motivate and inspire people to be the best version of themselves. My ethos is: do something for yourself, stay healthy and do something that you enjoy!
